Well, I'll be damned br>
真见鬼 br>
Here comes your ghost again br>
But that's not unusual br>
It's just that the moon is full and you happened to call br>
And here I sit hand on the telephone br>
Hearing a voice I'd known a couple of light years ago br>
Heading straight for a fall br>
As I remember your eyes br>
Were bluer than robin's eggs br>
My poetry was lousy you said br>
Where are you calling from? br>
A booth in the midwest br>
Twenty years ago I bought you some cufflinks br>
You brought me something br>
We both know what memories can bring br>
They bring diamonds and rust br>
Now I see you standing with brown leaves falling around br>
And snow in your hair br>
Now you're smiling out the window of that crummy hotel over Washington Square br>
Our breath comes out white clouds br>
Mingles and hangs in the air br>
Speaking strictly for me br>
说真的 br>
We both could have died then and there br>
Now you're telling me br>
You're not nostalgic br>
well give me another word for it br>
You who are so good with words br>
And at keeping things vague br>
Because I need some of that vagueness now br>
It's all come back too clearly br>
I was loved you dearly br>
And if you're offering me diamonds and rust br>
I've already paid br>
